FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
~Where are the photo sessions held?
The newborn sessions are in the comfort of your home, for Smash Cake and Maternity are held in my place or some park where we previously agreed.
~When is the best time to schedule a newborn session?
The best time to contact me is when you are on your third trimester, it is never too early to start thinking about newborn photos. The ideal time to schedule the session is when baby is around 7-15 days new, when they are at their sleepiest time and are more flexible where we can easily pose and mould them into position.
~I forgot to schedule a newborn session is it too late?
It is never too late to have your baby photographed. It is important to manage expectations of a session. Curly sleepy and posed newborn photos are never guaranteed but are usually reasonably achieved with babies under two weeks. A six week old baby may sleep during a session and have awake time, but may not be able to curl into womb positions or want to be wrapped. We do believe that, generally, babies can be successfully photographed at any age.
~Do you provide the outfits for your sessions?
Yes, I provide all the outfits for newborn and cake smash sessions. For Maternity I have a few that you can use.
~Are family photos included in your packages?
Yes! Parents and siblings are welcomed if you are booking a full session. (Not Minis).
~What if my baby doesn’t sleep?
Many babies do not sleep thru their session. Some are wide awake the entire time!! We can usually still achieve some amazing images, especially if they are wrapped!
~What if my baby cries?
Babies are babies and they will cry! We do everything we can to soothe and comfort them and surround them with a comfortable environment. I have a few soothing techniques and tips. :)
~ Can I receive my images Unedited/Raw ?
No. The subtle editing that I do to your images is part of my artistic style & therefore I am unable to supply unedited files, as is the case with all respected professional photographers.
~Is there retouching?
YES! There is always retouching available. Standard retouching is included, such as removal of acne or assistants who are spotting. For more advanced changes such as headswaps or color changes, they require an additional charge.
~ What props do you have? Could you send me images of all your props ? I have a variety of beautiful props for newborns and kids. I do not have a catalog or inventory list with images of all my props as I frequently add new props to my collection , therefore I do not send images of all my props . You are always welcome to review our instagram or website pages to see some of our props and get some ideas. Nonetheless, In a consultation call we review the color preference & ideas you have in mind for your session and I work with those ideas and create unique beautiful sets for your session date.
~ Where are the tub splash images taken? This is for Smash+Splash Collection and it is taken on the themed set.
~ Can we bring any props to the session? Yes, just please contact me before your session so we can plan to use them in the session.
~ Can I take behind the scenes pictures? Yes, I love them! I just ask to please tag me on my social platforms @sun.angel.photography
~ My baby still has their umbilical cord on. Is it ok to take photos?
Yes! Most babies that come still have their cord on, as it may take a full two weeks for it to fall off. When babies are wrapped, we wrap with their diaper on and cover the cord so that it does not catch on the fabric. When they are naked, we gently can cover the area to keep it protected. We are very cautious with newborn babies and we are aware of the post delivery care that is needed.
~How many images do you provide?
Newborn Sessions can be anywhere from 3-4 hours and the amount of images captured depends on how well the newborn is doing during transitioning of the poses. A newborn solo session can have anywhere from 30-60 images captured, whereas a family newborn session can have anywhere from 75-100 images captured. Duplicates or blurry images will be eliminated prior to your reveal appointment. You will then see the images and choose images for any package purchased or decide on what items you would like to purchase.
~ What if my toddler does not cooperate?
Children are children. We do the best we can when working with children of any age. We have a few tricks up our sleeves and, with your permission, we can offer them treats or incentives for capturing sweet images.
~ Can we include parent poses, our other children and our dog?
Please take a look at the session fees. We have session fees for photographing baby only or for a full newborn family session. If you would like to include the parents, siblings and any other family members, please chose the family newborn session option.
~ How quickly can I see the images?
Images are generally ready to see within 5-7 days of your session. A gallery of soft proofs will be provided for selection of final images, which will then be professionally edited.
